Hey folks,

Welcome to the new digs. We're really excited about the new opening and expansion of the old PSP World forums, and are very interested to hear any feedback and/or suggestions you have for the new boards.

I kinda like the other forums better, whats the point of jumping from pspworld to here? and then back to pspworld if you click on one of the news artivles?

I actually think it's a great idea--a central "hub" forum for all the gaming consoles. I'll be sure to promote the site and everything. Nice job guys.

PunBB is an interesting switch--I've never actually been on a PunBB forum. I liked the features of SMF, but PunBB has a certain "flavor," if you will.

Im really digging the new boards!  Im feeling like this will rejuvenate discussions.  It will take a little getting used to though.

It feels as though it's an entirely new forum. And more members will be filing it, as the boards now appeal to more than just PSP owners.

Argh.... I don't want to be 'ZatcharyB'.... I don't know if this is the case, but on most forums admins can change people names... If this is true on the forum, then could you please change it back to 'Zeemon' ?

And about the forum: I would not have chosen it myself, IMO.

No image tags in the sig? That's gonna have to change.

I guess Starrett's kind of into Punbb right now--it's fine, but not awesome. I see it as nothing more than a change of pace. I still like SMF overall.

Yeah, image tags in sigs need to be turned on.

Ask and you shall receive... images are now enabled in Signatures (just don't go too overboard ) and ZatcharyB is now Zeemon.

Seriously though, thanks for the encouragement guys. As we get these other sites rolled out, I think it will bring in a way bigger and more diverse crowd and we will definitely see the level of discussion go up a notch. I know the old PSP World Forums had a certain feel - trust me, we stayed up ALL NIGHT about a year and a half ago when we were building the site putting them together, and although I'll miss the old layout sometimes, changing stuff around in PunBB is so much easier that I think in time it will allow us to add more features and change more dynamically as the site and boards grow.

And a few suggestions--
1. Different titles for post count. (instead of "Member")
2. Install modifications to the forum to have more functions and excitment!

Actually,

I was just looking around to see if I could find the list of rankings we had for post counts. I think we may have to have another "What rankings do we want" thread to figure it out - or if someone remembers, we could use the old ones. I think Ice Cream Flavors (get it?) would be kind of cool, but then again I'm old

As far as more functions and whatnot, I plan on installing some new stuff in the coming weeks/months, but right now the top priority at GameFlavor HQ is trying to get the rest of the news sites up ASAP so we can drive more folks to the boards. As soon as we have all those set up (and our hard-earned vacations are over), we'll get to making some upgrades to functionality/etc.

Okay-- sounds great! Keep up the good work, and take your time. No rush.

We've decided to keep image signatures off until we do some coding so that they only show up *once* per thread. Seeing the same huge signature pic over and over and over gets really old. We're trying to keep these forums as streamlined as possible, so when (if) image signatures get turned back on, there will be a very strict size limit. Also, the avatars will not be getting any larger than they are now. Sorry, but the clean look and fast load times is very important to us.

Snazzy, very snazzy. I still have to get used to the time/date format, but I can get used to this.

Sorry to say this guys but i think the forum switch was a bad idea, i mean, look, hardly anyone ever posts here now....maybe just us few that stayed with it but the forum switch just made it worse, before the switch we had a lot more active posters,  and now...........not many

Hmm...

Very fresh looking. The change has pros and cons, positives and negatives but in the end I like the quick load times.

While images are pleasing it is not the purchase of this forum (nor of any forum really). The smilie buttons are very easy setup. When I was exploring PunBB several months ago I did notice there was not an option in the admin center to enable smilie buttons. Rather than try to install a mod of some sort I simply began learning PHP and successfully adjusted the page myself.

I have do have one complaint however. (One could think of it as suggestion if they want.) PunBB does not notify you when there is post you have not read, rather it notifies you when a post if new. (Whether or not it's new to you I suppose.)

But otherall I like it, keep the news up!
